Tianjin Rego International School is committed to providing secure
and vibrant educational opportunities, which inspire academic excellence,
recognize diversity, promote lifelong learning, encourage an all inclusive
learning environment and instil respect for self and community.
TRIS will realise it's Mission Statement through it's Vision:
TRIS is an International School, where students come from a wide range of
cultures and traditions. The development of tolerance and industry is an
essential part of the education of our children.
TRIS enables its students to achieve the highest level of academic success
through the British National Curriculum and educational system. To achieve this,
we employ and retain staff of the highest calibre. We also ensure that students
benefit from the language and culture of China through complementary Chinese
studies.
We aim to develop and sustain an educational environment in which students
are able to fulfil their maximum potential both as individuals and as members of
a community. Students are constantly challenged to do their best in all they
undertake, bringing out the maximum in each individual. They are encouraged to
undertake an active, investigative and independent approach to learning, where
they are involved in both individual and team work.
We endeavour to create a secure, positive atmosphere where human
relationships and personal development can progress in harmony in an enjoyable
environment for the young people entrusted to our care.
The Mission Statement and the Vision of TRIS give an overall direction for
the future development of our students.
We aim to develop in each pupil:
= the ability to communicate effectively and to
appreciate the complexity of human relationships
= a sense of self-respect, self-confidence and
self-esteem
= a growth of their mind, body, feelings and
imagination
= an enjoyment in learning
= a reasoned set of positive attitudes and
values
= knowledge, skills and practical abilities
To put these into practice we will:
= use a variety of teaching and learning styles
with a wide range of activities and lesson organisation appropriate to
the subject and the ability of the pupil
= develop each pupil's responsibility for and
understanding of their own learning and organisation
= enable staff and parents to work together to
create and demand high expectations from each other and from each pupil
= regularly monitor what is happening in each
classroom and develop high quality teaching and learning through good
practice, assessment and planning
= use real experiences to stimulate imagination,
to extend the use of language and provoke thought
= discuss and understand values and attitudes
such as sensitivity, sympathy, co-operation, tolerance, responsibility
and reason and their use in a variety of situations
